NBA All-Star Festivities '09: Nate Outdunks Superman

! Dunk Contest
The 2009 NBA Slam Dunk Contest did not disappoint. The field included defending champion Dwight Howard, who once again dressed as Superman, former champion Nate Robinson, high-flier JR Smith, and rookie Spanish sensation Rudy Fernandez. Little man Nate Robinson came out on top defeating Dwight "Superman" Howard in the finals. Nate's deciding dunk was when Howard allowed 5'9" Nate to dunk over him. Nate also had a nice dunk off the back of teammate Wilson Chandler. Robinson now has two Slam Dunk titles, 2006 and 2009. Nate will likely be back next year to defend his title. LeBron James who was in attendance said he would compete next season. LeBron has been asked every year to take part, but has declined. Next season however, King James will look to add Slam Dunk Champion to his resume. 2010's dunk contest may be the best ever.
Three-Point Shootout
Jason Kapono was ready for a three-peat, as he had won the last two. Kapono, one of the purest shooters in the NBA, did not even qualify for the finals this year however, as he was one three short! and finished third. The finals came down to Orlando's Rashard Lewis and Miami's Daequan Cook. Lewis could only muster 7 in the final round, making it easy for Cook to take the title. He surpassed 7 on his second rack. Cook is a pretty unknown player, but could be a big factor for Miami in the coming years. Cook has loads of potential and has finally got his name on the NBA map. Congrats Daequan on you three point victory.
